I was watching this video earlier this week (Beauty Broadcast) and couldn’t wait to go out to my local Target and snatch up these products.
I was able to find:
1. Pixie Correction Concentrate- Brightening Peach-
The idea is that the peach coloring will counter-act the blue tones under your eyes due to lack of sleep, stress, etc. I like this stuff in concept. I have really oily skin and it seems to crease on my under eyes. Which sucks because after the time change it would be really nice not to look like the walking dead. LOL!
I am going to try this a couple more times different ways to see if I like it better. Today I tried wearing it without powder over it, which is working better coverage wise but it is still creasing.
2. CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1- Natural Beige-
Tried this and immediately threw it in my “probably will never use again” bin. I don’t know what it was… maybe the color was wrong. I did notice that later in the night (day for me) I looked a little more yellow than I wanted to. Perhaps it was the NYX Matte Not Flat Powder Foundation I put over it. After writing this paragraph I feel like I should give it another shot… Ok so fine, I’ll pull it out of the never again bin and try one more time. **update: I did try it again without the powder today and I already like it better.**
3. Revlon PhotoReady Perfecting Primer-
Not the one in the video but one that I’m enjoying. I was total bummed about not being able to find the primer that Emily talked about in the video. I have probably the most oily skin on the planet. Mom says that it’s actually a good thing and it helps prevent wrinkles. Well, I am grateful for that. I have noticed that people my age are starting to look really old! How did that happen?! Any-who, I swear my face eats my make-up. Perhaps it is the fact that I work long shifts (think 10-12 hours) and in not the best conditions (HOT in the summer and cold in the winter). By the end of my shift I either look like my make-up is sitting on top of my face or it has smeared off/looks streaky.
I have tried several different primers (this one, this one, this one, and this one (probably my favorite)) and I’m not really impressed with any of them. Perhaps my expectations are too high for what I think a primer should do. My expectation is that I will have a nice matte finish for the day. Is that too much to ask for?!
If you use a great primer comment below and let me know. I’d really like to hear about it.
***I purchased all of these products with my own hard earned money. This is NOT a sponsored post just my honest review of products I have tried***
