Weekend Summery

This was an amazing weekend filled with friends, family, snow and crafts!  Here are some photos from my weekend.

J and I drove down to Virginia on Friday to see the Bestie and the new baby.  We got on the road late, go figure, but made it there in time for lunch.  We stopped at Fair Oaks Mall to give J a chance to play for a little bit since she was trapped in the car for 3 hours.

J, Nickie and I went to P.F. Chang’s for lunch and ate like fat kids!  I didn’t get any pictures because I was too busy wrestling with J and trying to stuff my face.  I had Chang’s Spicy Chicken and Nickie had Lemon Scallops.  We split an order of Chicken Lettuce Wraps.  This is our standard lunch/dinner at Chang’s.  Nickie is very good about feeding all of my food cravings while I’m visiting.  No offense central Pennsylvania, but there is no good food options up here.

From there we ran some errands and then headed back to her house to hang out.  Northern Virginia can be a little hectic on a good day, around the holidays it is just insane.

We ended up driving back on Friday night because there was a promise of snow.  I hate cutting trips short but I didn’t want to get stuck in NoVA for an extra day.

We got home LATE (0200) after gettting turned around in DC and driving through North East.

We woke up on Saturday morning hoping for a blizzard and there was NOTHING!  Matt had an early morning haircut appointment so we ran in to town to do that and pick up a couple things at Walmart (no, not TP, Eggs and Milk.  I promise!).

While we were out it started to snow… and snow… and snow… By the time J woke up from her nap there were several inches on the ground and it was still coming down.

First snow day!

While everyone was out playing in the snow I worked on some crochet projects. I finally made up some wind stops for the basement door and the kitchen door.  You know it’s time to get them done when the hubby says “how about you go upstairs and make them now.”  LOL!  (I have pictures of the crafts, but apparently I didn’t download them off my camera yet… ) Then everyone came in for hot chocolate and snuggles to warm up.  It was a wonderful day!  Later that night Matt showed J how to make snow cream and it was delicious!  Sunday was filled with cleaning and cooking and getting ready for the week.  I hope everyone enjoyed their weekeds.  Did you get any snow?  Did you work on any crafts this weekend?
